The use of the Internet of Things (IoT) in agriculture and agricultural extension is transforming farming activities by enabling precision, efficiency, and sustainability. IoT systems, sensors, drones, and automated systems will gather and process real-time information about soil, crop, livestock, and environmental conditions. Such understandings enable farmers to use their resources effectively and make informed choices that enhance productivity and sustainability. The IoT can be used to provide personalised, timely, and data-driven farming advice by using agricultural extension, which is a critical aspect in the process of eliminating a divide between farmers and research institutions. Soil moisture sensors and weather monitoring devices are some of the tools that allow extension agents to provide location-specific recommendations on irrigation, pest management, and resource management.
